Materials

3 A4 sheets JS Stardream Cardstock - I used Citrine.
1 or 2 A4 sheets JS Gentle Gloss Photo Paper.
1 A4 sheet 120gsm paper (for insert).
1 A4 sheet JS Gold Mirri Card.
1 A4 sheet JS Black Mirri Card.
Sticky Stuff - I used Double Sided Tape, Foam Pads and Aleenes Tacky Glue.
Joanna Sheen's Furry Friends CD.
2 x 1p coins

Optional
Martha Stewart border punch for edging insert.
CREAlies Creative Flower Die CL CF 05.
Punch Bunch Mini Punch - Sun 8P 387.
Nestabilities Scallop Circle Die Set.

Step One

Using Gentle Gloss photo paper print out the second largest dog topper, and one of the circular sentiments. How to import an image into a Word Processing or Graphics Programmer is explained on the CD, and if you are able to do this, both images will fit on one sheet of photo paper. It also explains on the CD how to use the interactive facility and add a sentiment. I personalized the circular sentiment.

Mount the circular sentiment onto a circle cut out of gold mirri card. I used a scallop Nestability.

Mount the topper onto layers of black and gold mirri card. The mounted topper should measure 9.5cms x 12cms. You may have to trim your topper a little, as some printers print to slightly different sizes.

Using 120gsm paper, print out the matching topper using the A4 landscape option. Using the interactive facility, add a sentiment.

Using JS Stardream card, print out one of the paw-print co-ordinating backing papers. If your printer doesn't print on thick card, print out on 160gsm thin card cut to size, and stick to the Stardream card. You will need to apply glue/sticky stuff all over the reverse of the thin card. Allow time to dry.

Step Two

Cut a piece of Stardream card 21.5cms x 20cms, and with the longest side (21.5cms) along the top edge of the card, score a vertical line 1.5cms in from the left-hand side edge. Fold the 1.5cms score line under, to create a 20cms x 20cms square piece of card "A". This forms the front section of the card.

Cut a piece of Stardream card 20cms x 20cms. This forms the back section of the card "B".

Stick double sided tape to the 1.5cms fold and attach Front Section "A" to Back Section "B".

Step Three

Trim the insert to fit the inside of the card (Back Section "B" - this will cover the join).

I cut the insert slightly larger and used a Martha Stewart punch to decorate to top edge.

Attach using double sided tape.

Step Four

Cut a square of the paw-print backing paper/card 19.5cms x 19.5cms.

Working on the reverse side of the square, mark out a rectangle 1.5cms from the top edge, 3cms from the bottom edge, and 3.5cms from both side edges.

Mark out a second rectangle 1cm inside the first rectangle. This is shown by the blue shaded area, and both rectangles should be cut out. This will create your frame.

Mount the topper on top of the paw-print backing card, (pink and yellow rectangles shown for information). You should have a paw-print border of 0.5cms visible around the topper. The 0.5cms border stops the coin as it rotates, scratching the topper.

Step Five

Run an embossing tool held at an angle, round the inside edge of the largest rectangle. This will neaten the cut edge and create a bevel.

The 1cms rectangle aperture is not used.

Cut approx 1mm off the corners of the mounted topper to round the corners.

Step Six

Stick foam pads around the reverse of the frame, ensuring the foam pads don't obstruct the rotation of the coins. At the top of the frame, you will need to cut foam pads in half.

Cut two small circles of foam (approx 7mm) to fit between the coins and join the two coins together.

Step Seven

Attach the frame to the front of the card. Position one coin underneath the frame and one on top of the frame. Check the coins will move around the frame.

Stick foam pads to the reverse of the topper and attach the topper to the front of the card as show by the dashed line. The topper should be located between the two coins.

Centre and fix the circular sentiment on top of the coins.

Cover the frog on the sentiment with a small flower. I used a CREAlies die and cut two flowers using the leftover paper from the insert. Stick together using Aleenes tacky glue and add a flower centre made using the small sun punch.

This card will fit in a 22cms x 22cms envelope.
