There are no measurements for this card as it is dependent on the size of the topper you use to create your Diorama. I will include the measurements I used with this particular image. I always like to choose an image with a strong focal point, and my preference when creating a diorama, is that the focal point is to one side of the image.
Step One
Print out five copies of the smaller sized image of your choice, using Gentle Gloss Photo Paper. Measure the blue border at either side - mine measured 8mm.
Image A - The images were captured in Adobe Reader (instructions on CD), imported into a word processing programme and arranged on the A4 page to allow sufficient room to create zigzag tabs (shown in white) at either side of TWO of the images. You will need 2 x the width of the blue border to create the zigzag tab. (A border of 8mm needs 16mm extra at each side). Divide the 16mm into two equal parts and score vertically against the image and at 8mm point).
Image B - The images were printed out directly from Adobe Reader (you will have three large and one small image spare for other cards) and cut out five of the small images using the blue border line as a guide.
Cut four strips of thin card each 3 x the width of the border and score to divide into three. (Mine measured 24mm divided into three equal parts of 8mm). Stick one of the 8mm wide sections underneath the card. You may find it easier to do this after you have created the diorama layers.
Whichever method you use to print your images, you only need to add the zigzag border to two of the images which will form the top and bottom layers of the diorama. Cut the other three images out on the blue border line.
Step Two
To make the card, cut a piece of Stardream card twice the width of the image + 1cm and the height of the image + 4mm. The +'s in the sizing can be increased if desired.
Mark the centre point (fold line of the card) and score twice, each time 1mm either side of the centre point. This will create a 2mm wide spine to allow for the depth of the diorama when the card is closed.
Mount one of the images on a piece of gold Mirri silk card - I allowed a 1mm border, and fixed to the front of the card.
Print out the insert and trim to fit the inside left of the card. I chose the blue Kingfisher insert, with the printed sentiment, choosing not to use the interactive facility. I cut out the two small kingfishers and stuck one on the back of the card and one of the insert (see main picture).
Step Three
Cut out the diorama (decoupage) elements on four of the images. This picture shows the part of the images I cut away.
Decoupage layer "A" Kingfisher and part of log.
Top layer "B" has the most part of the image cut away. (This layer has the zigzag tabs at either side)
Middle layer "C" has less cut away. (No side tabs on this image)
Base layer "D" has nothing cut away. (This layer also has the zigzag tabs at either side)
Fold the zigzag tabs downwards and behind the image on Top layer "B" and upwards on Base layer "D".
Fix a strip of double sided tape to the zigzag tabs on "B" and "D" (see picture).
Reinforce the reverse of the top and bottom borders of the Top and Middle layers, using a thin strip of 160gsm card.
Centre and fix the Base layer of the diorama on the inside of the card, making sure the zigzag tab is pointing upwards. Remove the double sided tape from the tab and align and stick the Middle layer on top of the zigzag tab. Remove the double sided tape from the Top layer and stick on top of the border of the Middle layer aligning the zigzag on top of the border.
Decoupage the kingfisher "A" on top of the Top layer.
