This project is a continuation of the pomander project, and uses the leftover toppers and backing paper to create three cards.
Materials
1 x sheet of JS A4 Onyx Stardream card.
1 x sheet of JS A4 Opal White Stardream card.
3 x sheets of JS A4 Gold Mirri Silk card.
JS Eastern Treasures CD (circular toppers and backing paper left over from making the pomander). I also printed two of the inserts and one extra backing sheet (optional).
Sticky stuff (I used double sided tape, foam pads, Collall glue and silicone glue).
JS 7mm organza ribbon.
2 x 1p pieces.
JS Multi-waves peel-offs and Oriental Sentiment.
Circular Penny Slider Card - Step One
Cut out one large and one of the smallest circular toppers.
Using a CD as a template cut out a circle of gold Mirri-silk card for the base.
Using one of the largest circular toppers as a template, draw a circle on the reverse of a second piece of gold mirri-silk card. Cut out the circle leaving a border of approximately 3mm around the circle. This will form the backing for the topper.
On the reverse of the circular topper, mark out two circles.
Circle A is approximately 12mm wide.
Circle B is 8mm wide. I used a wine glass and a sherry glass to make my circles.
Cut out circle B. (See picture). You should now have a solid circle C and a frame circle A.
Step Two
Mount frame A and solid circle C onto the backing topper, matching up the pattern and leaving a gap equivalent to B which has been cut out.
Step Three
Cut away the gold section between A and C.
Cut two small circles of foam pads, stick one on top of the other and sandwich between two 1p pieces.
Stick the smallest topper to a piece of gold mirri-silk card and cut out leaving a narrow gold border. (See picture).
Step Four
On the reverse of the topper attach small foam pads around the edge of frame circle A.
Attach foam pads to the centre of circle C.
Fix the 2 x 1p pieces to the centre back of the small topper. I used silicone glue, allow time to dry.
Locate the 2p pieces between frame circle A and C and check that the 2p pieces can move freely round the circle. (See picture).
Step Six
Score an A4 sheet of Onyx Stardream card to create an A5 card. Score the front of the card lengthwise and fold back.
Cut a piece of backing paper and cover the front of the card. Cover the reverse of the mirri circle slider with backing paper. Centre and mount the slider to the front folded back section of the card. (See picture)
Print out an insert, trim and mount inside the card. I mounted the insert in two sections.
Circles Thank You Card - Step One
Sheet of A4 Stardream card folded to A5.
Cut out three of the smallest toppers leaving a border round one of the toppers. Using one of the toppers as a template, on the inside front of the card, centre and draw a circle. Cut out an aperture slightly smaller than the circle you have drawn.
Using silicone glue mount the topper with the border behind the aperture.
Space and mount the remaining two toppers on the front of the card.
Lay a diamond peel-off round the aperture and behind each of the other two toppers.
Add an extra layer of decoupage to the top and bottom toppers.
Add an Oriental Thank You sentiment. (See picture).
Step Two
Choose an insert from the CD. I chose one from the interactive section, Follow the instructions on the CD. I added For being my friend.
Finish off with a double ribbon bow.
Triple circles card - Step One
Using an old CD as a template, cut out six circles from Gold Mirri Silk card. If you position the CD carefully you can cut three circles from one A4 sheet of card.
Centre and stick six of the largest circles to the mirri circles. I used Collall glue and substituted a plain circle of 160gsm card (use patterned circle for template) to allow me to add a greeting.
Cut a strip of black card 30mm x 297mm to attach and connect the circles. Place the strip of card on your cutting mat centring it (see picture).
Stick a small piece of double sided tape to the centre back of three of the mirri circles.
Using a ruler as a guide, centre and stick one of the circles to the black strip. (See picture).
Step Two
Stick the other two circles onto the black strip, leaving a slight gap between the circles. This will enable the card to fold into three. The black strip does not extend to the outside edges of the circles.
Match and stick the other three circles to the reverse of the black strip. The black strip will now be encased and only visible between the circles. I used Collall glue.
Fold the card and cut a sliver of card off the bottom of all three sections so the card will balance and stand. (See picture).
