Materials

1 A4 sheet 160gsm thin card
1 A4 sheet JS Mirri Silk Card
1 A4 sheet JS Gentle Gloss 180gsm photo paper
0.75mtrs 15mm JS Organza ribbon
Border peel-offs
JS - In Other Words CD

Optional Martha Stewart Doily Lace border punch (Please read the addendum if you do not have a suitable punch)

Sticky Stuff - I used Colle photo glue and double sided tape

Step One

Using Gentle Gloss photo paper, print out your chosen image.

Using 160gsm thin card, print out a matching backing paper, using edge to edge printing.

Landscape orientation measure and score vertically a point 8cms from each side edge. (See next picture).

Line one of the short edges of the card up to the punching mechanism, and punch along the edge. (See picture).

Punch the opposite short edge to match. The Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch fits this card design exactly.

Step Two

If you have used the Doily Lace border punch you should have 11 complete lace scallops down each side. Make a small cut either side of the centre scallop, shown by the blue line. (See picture).

Before you cut away the punching waste, measure and mark points 3.5cms in from the side edges, top and bottom. Draw and score a diagonal line from each 3.5cms point to the cutline (blue) on the centre scallop. (See Fig. 2).

When folded back the score lines form "lapels". Before folding, measure the size of the lapels excluding the scallops. My lapels measured 1.7cms x 9.2cms.

Step Three

Fold the two 8cms score lines and the four "lapels".

Using the four corners of the Mirri Silk card as a guide, cut four pieces of Mirri Silk card 1.7cms x 9.2cms, joining the two measurements with a diagonal line. Fix to the lapels (See picture).

You will have a centre scallop on each gatefold, which will overlap when the card is closed.

Step Four

Cut a piece of Mirri Silk card to fit inside the card. Mine measured 13.2cms x 21cms. Stick to the inside back of the card.

Fix your "In Other Words" image on top of Mirri Silk card, and edge with a border peel-off.

Finish off with a ribbon fastening round the centre of the card tying a bow where the centre scallops overlap. (See picture).

Addendum

If you do not have a suitable punch, measure out for the standard A5 gatefold card. Make your lapels to the same size as in the project leaving 1.7cms at the centre side edge clear of the lapel folds.
