Materials

2 Sheets A4 card approx 250gsm.
1 Sheet A4 JS gold mirri card.
1 Sheet A4 JS black mirri card.
1 A4 sheet approx 120gsm paper for insert.
1 A4 Sheet JS Gentle Gloss photo paper.
Gold Peel-off DD6574.
Optional - Peel-off sentiment.
Off cut 160gsm thin white card.
Off cut of vellum approx 6cms x 8cms.
Approx 20cms thin red ribbon.
Sticky Stuff - I used Double Sided Tape, Red Liner Tape, Photo Glue, and Pinflair Glue Gel.
JS Furry Friends CD.

Optional - I used a Houghie Board, to save some measuring, but this card could be made using any scoreboard.

Step One

Cut a piece of card 21cms x 21cms and score a vertical line 15cms from the left-hand side of the card.

Mark the centre point (10.5cms) down the right-hand side of the card, and mark points 0.5cms and 1.5cms either side of the centre point. (Shown as 2 and 3 on the diagram).

Within the 6cms of card, to the right of the score line, along the top and bottom edges of the card, mark points at 1cms, 1.5cms and 2.5cms from the vertical score line. (Shown as 1, 2 and 3 on the diagram).

Score the diagonal lines, as shown in the diagram.

Cut away the green line.

Mountain fold the red lines, valley fold the blue lines.

Step Two

Cut a piece of card 21cms x 16.5cms.

Score a vertical line 1.5cms from the left-hand side of the card.

Fold the score line

Step Three

Apply double sided tape to the front of the fold at the left-hand side of card section A

Step Four

With the fold lines at the left and flap on top, place the front section A on top of the back section B, lining up the fold lines on both card sections. Remove the backing from the double sided tape to join both sections of the card together.

Step Five

Using Gentle Gloss photo paper, print out the large graduation image from the JS Furry Friends CD. I printed the complete sheet of toppers because I wanted to decorate the back of the card with the mortar board.

Mount the largest topper on black and gold mirri card and fix to the front of the card using double sided tape.

Optional add a sentiment to the front of the card.

Using 120gms paper print out the matching insert. If you want to use the interactive facility and add your own sentiment, how to, is explained on the CD.

Fix the insert to the inside of the card using double sided tape. I fixed the insert on top of where the two pieces of card were joined together, to hide the join.

Step Six

Cut a piece of thin card 6cms x 21cms.

Mark points at the top and bottom of the card, 1cms from the left-hand side.

Mark a point down the right-hand side of the card 10.5cms from the top corner.

Joint the points from the top and bottom, to meet at the centre right-hand side and create a "V" shape.

If you are using a Houghie Board, place the card vertically on the board and score lines at 0.5cms intervals. I alternated my score lines between mountain and valley, by turning the card over. If you don't have a Houghie Board, measure the points for scoring.

Cutting just inside the pencil line, cut away the excess card and fix to the front flap. I used Photo Glue.

Cut a piece of parchment approximately 6cms x 8cms, edge with a gold inkpad and "roll a scroll". I used a knitting needle to roll the parchment round.

Secure with a piece of red ribbon tied in a bow. Fix the scroll to the front flap, I used Pinflair Glue Gel.

Trim the front of the flap with peel-offs.

This card will fit in a C5 Envelope.
