Materials

2 A4 sheets JS Stardream card – I used Citrine.
2 or 3 A4 sheets 160gsm thin card for backing paper.
1 A4 sheet Gentle Gloss Photo Paper for toppers.
1 A4 sheet JS gold mirri card.
Sticky Stuff – I used Double Sided Tape, Foam Pads and Quickie Glue Pen.
JS Viva La Divas CD.

Optional – Punches. I used Martha Stewart Border and Corner Double Loop and pop-up Water Lily Punch.

Not all punches are suitable for all types of card. Please check your punch is suitable

Step One

Using the Viva La Divas CD and Gentle Gloss photo paper, print out a set of Toppers. If you want to change the sentiment, how to, is explained on the CD.

Using 160gsm thin card, print out two or three matching backing papers. All makes of printers have different printable areas so the number of sheets you need to print may vary.

Step Two

For the body of the card cut a piece of Stardream card 26cms x 17.5cms.

Landscape orientation measure and score a vertical line 6.5cms from each side edge. Do not fold the score lines.

Optional – punch the four corners of the card to decorate.

Step Three

For the gatefold flaps, using Stardream card cut two pieces of card 17.5cms x 13cms.

Optional - punch the four corners to match.

Step Four

Cut out the large toppers and mount onto gold mirri gloss card, then onto a piece of 160gsm backing paper. The topper when mounted should measure no more than 12.5cms x 17cms.

Stick the toppers to the centre section of the back and front of the card.

Cut two pieces of backing paper 8.25cms x 12.7cms and punch a decorative border. If you are using a different punch the measurements may vary. Centre and stick the backing paper to the gatefold flap.

Cut one of the smallest toppers and mount onto gold mirri card. Mount the topper onto the backing paper and stick onto the gatefold flap on top of the backing paper.

Attach the gatefold flap to the card, matching the decorated corners. Repeat with the second gatefold flap. Crease the score lines.

Step Five

Cut four strips of backing paper 12.7cms x 5cm and using Martha Stewart punches add a decorative border. If you are using a different punch from the Double Loop sizes may vary.

Using double sided tape to fix, centre and mount the strip onto the inside of the gatefold flap. If the strips don’t lie flat they can be secured at the corners using a Quickie Glue Pen.

Decorate the centre of the strips with an embellishment. I used the Martha Stewart pop-up Water Lily Punch and cut four lilies.

The illustration shows the “H” shape of the finished card. This card is double sided and can be decorated on either one or both sides.

The card will present better in a box or a specially made envelope. An A4 envelope can be adapted to fit.
