Materials

2 A4 Sheets JS Stardream card – I used Mars.
1 A4 Sheet JS Gold Mirri Card.
3 x A4 Sheets of JS Gentle Gloss Photo Paper.
1 x A4 Sheet of paper 100/120gsm for insert.
50cms of 1.5cms wide Organza Ribbon.
Bling Diamante.
2 x Tassels.
Sticky Stuff – I used Red Liner Tape, Foam Pads and Double Sided Tape.
JS “Patience Strong” CD Volume 1.

Step One

Using JS Stardream card, cut two pieces of card 12.5cms x 22.2cms. Landscape orientation; score a vertical line 2cms in from the left side edges. If you are not using double sided card, you will need to score the line at the left-hand side on one piece of card and at the right-hand side on the other.

Cut two pieces of card 11cms x 6cms and shape as shown in Pic. Round off the corners on three sides (excluding the bottom right-hand corner).

Step Two

Using Gentle Gloss Photo Paper, print out the largest topper and mount onto Gold Mirri card leaving a narrow border.

Add a sentiment to the bookmark and print out two sets. If you do not know how to use the interactive facility to add a sentiment, it is explained on the CD.

Optional - Use a laminator to laminate the bookmarks. Add a tassel.

Step Three

Mount the topper on the front of the card (the piece with the score line on the left) centring the topper (excluding the 2cms strip at the left).

To make the holders for the bookmarks. – The holders when attached should not overlap the 2cms strip.

Fix foam pads to the 6cms and the 11cms sides of the small pieces of card.

Attach to the inside front of the card, approximately 1cms from the top and bottom edges. Fix the top holder first and then the lower one. This will overlap the top holder. Before doing a final fix check the bookmarks will slide in and out. (See picture)

Step Four

After adding a sentiment, print out an A4 Landscape insert. Cut the sentiment section to 12.3cms x 21cms. Stick narrow strong double sided tape to the reverse of the insert. (The tape needs to be down the left edge of the underside of the insert when the sentiment is facing you).

The insert is slightly smaller than the card. With the 2cms score line on the card at the left-hand side, line the insert up with the right-hand side of the card and stick down. The part where the insert doesn’t reach will not show on the finished card.

Step Five

On both pieces of card, within the 2cms wide section cut out two horizontal slits 1.5cms wide x 1mm to thread the ribbon through. (This cut needs to be the same size as the ribbon, which should be no wider than 1.5cms). Make the slits approximately 3cms from the top and bottom edges of the card, and ensure that they are in line when the two pieces of card are placed together.

Fix Red Line double sided tape to the inside of the bottom piece of card. Do not cover the ribbon threading slits. (Shown in yellow).

Cut a piece of 1.5cms ribbon approx 50cms long and thread through one of the slits on the front of the card. Twist the ribbon once and thread the other end of the ribbon through to the back of the card. Pull the ribbon taught at the front of the card. The twist should be in the middle.

Step Six

Thread the ribbon through the bottom piece of card. Remove the backing from the double sided tape pull the ribbon through and fix the two pieces of card together.

Tie a knot in the ribbon and thread the ends back through to the front of the card.

Neaten off the ribbon at the front of the card and add a small jewel to the twisted ribbon.

Step Seven

Insert the bookmarks in the holders.

This card will fit in a C5 envelope.
