Materials

2 Sheets A4 JS Stardream Card - I used Citrine
1 Sheet A4 JS Mirri Silk Gold Card
2 Sheets A4 JS Gentle Gloss Photo Paper for toppers and sentiments
1 Sheet A4 100/120gsm paper for insert
Sticky stuff - I used Colle Photo Glue, Double Sided Tape, and Foam Pads
JS Ivory Cats CD

Step One

Using the Stardream card, landscape orientation, measure and score a vertical line, 4.2cms from each side edge. Fold the score line to create a narrow gatefold at each side of the card. (See picture).

Step Two

Using Gentle Gloss photo paper, print out your cat topper. I printed out a page of rectangular toppers using the smaller size which measured 15.8cms x 8.3cms. Mount the topper onto Gold Mirri Silk card and then onto Stardream card. Your chosen topper when mounted needs to be big enough to overlap the four corner toppers. (See picture).

Using Stardream card cut four pieces of card 10.5cms x 7cms. Round off the corners.

Using Gold Mirri Silk card cut four pieces of card 10cms x 6.5cms. Round off the corners.

Centre and mount the Mirri Silk card onto the Stardream card to create four gold toppers.

Fix the gold toppers to each corner of the gatefold. (See picture).

Centre and attach the cat topper to the left-hand side of the gatefold. (See finished card).

Step Three

Using Gentle Gloss photo paper, type and print out your sentiment. It explains on the CD how to capture and import images into a Word Processing or Graphics programme. I imported my sentiments into MS Word and was able to print a set of four on one page. (See picture).

Step Four

Although there is no square insert in the list of insert sizes on the CD, it is possible to create a square insert using many of the insert designs on the CD. To create a square insert suitable for a 21cms x 21cms card, I used the A4 landscape orientation, interactive insert option.

I typed Happy Birthday in the middle of the A4 sheet. Position your text centrally by using your space bar. Highlight the insert and copy as per the instructions on the CD.

Open your Word Processing programme and set all the margins to ZERO. Turn on your rulers (Top Menu Bar > View > Rulers). Paste the insert into your word processing programme.

Click on the pasted insert and you should be able to see little boxes at the four corners and at the centre of the side and bottom edges. Hold your left mouse button down and grab the little box at the centre bottom of the insert. Drag your mouse upwards. This will shorten the length of the insert. Stop when the bottom of the insert is in line with the 21cms point on the side ruler. You will now have a square insert 21cms x 21cms. (See Fig. 4).

Using 100/120gsm paper, print out the insert and trim to size. You may get a message which says your document (insert) is outside the area of printing and do you want to alter your margins. Ignore it and press print.

Step Five

Trim and fix the insert to the inside of the card.

Optional, If you wish to fix a small strip of insert to the inner parts of the side gatefolds, you will need to print an extra interactive insert (text removed). (See picture).
