Materials

4 Sheets A4 Citrine Stardream cardstock
1 Sheet A4 Gold Mirri Silk cardstock
3 Sheets JS Gentle Gloss photo paper
Sheet of 160gsm thin card Approx 50cms of 7mm ribbon
Sticky Stuff - I used Colle photo glue and double sided tape
JS Jayne Netley Mayhew CD Collection Part 2
Optional - Double Ended Pokey Tool (available on the website). I use this tool all the time for marking measurements.

Step One

Using 160gsm card cut a template 16.5cms x 16.5cms. Measure a point 2cms in from the edge on all four sides, and draw a pencil line to connect the points. (See picture). Do not round the corners of the template.

Cut four pieces of Stardream card measuring 16.5cms x 16.5cms. Place the template on top of the Stardream card and using the pokey tool mark the four points where the pencil lines cross, and the adjacent side edges of the card, shown by the red circles. (See picture).

Round the four corners of the card, and cut away the 2cms strips at each side of the card, shown by the green dotted line. (See picture). It is easier if you round the corners before cutting away the strips.

You should now be left with a tab at each corner of the card. (See next picture, fig A) Repeat with the other three pieces of Stardream card.

Step Two

Cut four notches 1cm long by 1mm wide on each of the four pieces of card, shown by the blue lines. The notches should be in line with the sides of the card (See picture, fig B).

Capture four of the images (toppers) from the CD and import into a word processing or graphics programme (instructions on the CD). The toppers you choose should be square and no larger than 10cms x 10cms to allow for the gold mirri silk mat. I chose two images from CD1 Birds and two from CD2 Botanicals (the smallest toppers on the sheet). Print out the toppers. I used two sheet of JS Gentle Gloss photo paper.

Optional - if you wish to add some primrose to the top of the card (see main picture) capture the primroses at the corner of the matching insert and import into your word processing or graphics programme, then print.

Mount the toppers on JS Mirri silk card leaving a small border of approx 3mm round the topper.

For the front topper insert, cut a piece of 160gsm thin card which when folded will be slightly smaller than the mounted topper. e.g. For an unmounted topper of 10cms x 10cms cut the card 10cms x 20cms (folds to 10cms x 10cms). Add a sentiment to the inside of the insert if required. Fix a length of ribbon to the outside of the back and front of the insert, sufficient to tie a bow to secure the topper.

Fix the insert to the reverse of the front topper, ensuring that the fold at the left of the insert fits flush with the left side of the topper.

Step Three

If you are adding sentiments to the top and bottom of each of the four pages of the card, type and print them out on JS 180gsm Gentle Gloss photo paper. I also used one of the interactive sentiments on the CD and typed, "On Mothering Sunday", which I printed twice and decoupaged the butterfly.

I cut a piece of acetate to the size I wanted each sentiment to be on the card, I was then able to position the acetate centrally over each sentiment and mark the cutting points with the pokey tool. (See picture "in the garden"). Mount the sentiments on gold mirri silk card.

Step Four

Centre and fix the toppers on each of the four sides of the card. Add your sentiments and extra decoration. (See picture).

Optional - decorate the inside of the card with extra toppers.

Link the notches at the top and the bottom of each section of card together. You will have to bend the card slightly to link them together. (See picture).

Step Five

This card folds flat for posting as shown.
