Materials

1 x Sheet of A4 Opal Stardream Card.
2 x Sheets of A4 JS Gentle Gloss 180gsm Photo Paper.
1 x Sheet of A4 paper for insert.
Backing paper for topper.
JS Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady CD (I used an image on Page 2 of CD1 Summer Section)

Sticky stuff, I used double sided tape, silicone glue, Quickie Glue Pen, and Collall photo glue.

For the words I used:-
1 x Sheet of A4 White Card approx 250gms (for letters).
1 x Sheet of A4 JS Gentle Gloss 180gsm Photo Paper (for butterflies).
1 x Sheet of A4 Copy paper (for test print).

Alternatively if your printer won’t print cardstock, you can print the letters on thinner card/paper and stick to thicker card, or use a die-cutting machine, letter templates, or peel-off letters.

Optional Box
2 x Sheets of A4 cardstock.
Ribbon to decorate.

Step One

Using the sheet of Stardream card, landscape orientation, mark and score the centre fold line “A”.  Do not fold.

Landscape orientation and measuring from the centre score line mark and score four sections each 3cms wide x 5cms deep either side of the score line (eight in total).  Repeat at the bottom edge of the card. (This is shown by the red and blue lines).   (See picture)

Cut along the green lines “B” to “B” (top and bottom of card).

Step Two

Print or die-cut your letters.

I used a butterfly image from CD1 Summer Section, Page Two (bottom left of page).

Print the matching butterfly backing sheet on 250gsm card. (See picture sheet “A”).

Using a word processing programme, use a large sized outline font (gives hollow letters) e.g. Arialic Hollow or SD Viewer Font.  If you don't have a hollow font use a bold font such as Arial Bold and decoupage the butterflies over the letters.I typed my letters – Arialic Hollow Font, Size 150pt, and Colour – gold and printed onto a sheet of copy paper.  (See picture sheet “B”).

Place the copy paper over the top of the printed backing sheet of card and check the butterflies are strategically placed over the letters, adjust if necessary.

When satisfied with the placement of the letters, place the printed card back into the printer and print the words.  (See picture sheet “C”).Cut out the letters and butterflies.

Step Three

Mountain fold the red lines, and valley fold the blue lines. (See picture).

Using 180gsm photo paper print the matching sheet of toppers. Trim and add a mat (I used gold paper for definition). (See picture).

Using the photo paper print a second matching backing sheet.  I used the one with the butterfly border and marbled effect pattern.  Cut out the butterfly strip and stick along the bottom edge of the back of the card. Then cut 16 rectangle tiles 4.5cms x 2.5cms and stick to the inner sections of the pleats. Do not stick a tile to the lower front edge, or the back of the card. (See main picture).

Fix the large topper to the front of the card, and the smallest topper to the back. Using a glue pen stick the letters to each pleat so they stand proud.  Add a sentiment and insert trimmed to size. (See main picture).

Step Four

Make a box.  I used the pink Groovy scoreboard which comes with instructions; the Eazi-Scoreboard also has instructions how to make boxes as do other scoreboards.

I printed the butterfly backing sheet for the lid, decorated the inside of the lid with the spare topper and added a letter and ribbon to the front.
