Materials

1 A4 sheet JS Stardream Card - I used Citrine.
2 A4 sheets JS Gentle Gloss Photo Paper.
1 A4 sheet JS Gold Mirri Card.
1 A5 sheet JS Thick Acetate.
2 A4 sheets 120gsm paper for insert.
Sticky Stuff - I used double sided tape, Quickie glue pen, and large foam pads.
Joanna Sheen - Viva La Divas CD.

Optional Flowers
1 A4 sheet of pink card, approx 200gsm for the flowers.
Small amount of green card for foliage - I used green vellum.
CREAlies dies CL CF 13 (flowers), CL CS 12 (foliage).
Stickles Glitter Glue or similar for flower centres.
Aleenes Quick Dry Tacky Glue for assembling flowers.

Step One

Using Gentle Gloss photo paper print out three copies of the image. You will need two copies with identical quotes (A & B) and a third copy (C) with a complimentary quote. How to use the interactive facility to add your quotes is explained on the CD. You will also need one of the interactive sentiments. There is a matching sentiment on the CD.

Stick double sided tape round the edge of image (B) applying two thick strips of double sided tape to the top of the reverse of the image (B).

Step Two

Mount image eeny meeny (B), - the one with the extra double sided tape on the reverse, onto gold mirri card. The finished topper should measure approximately 11.5cms x 16cms.

Cut away the Eeny, meeny, on the mounted topper to create an aperture, cutting close to the lettering, and leaving a border wide enough for a foam pad to be stuck to the reverse side, without being seen on the front of the topper.

Mount the sentiment on a piece of gold mirri card leaving a narrow border. The finished sentiment should measure approximately 11.3cms x 3.5cms.

Fold an A4 sheet of Stardream card in half to create an A5 portrait orientation card.

Stick the second Eeny, meeny image (A) onto the card, positioning the image approximately 1.5cms from the bottom edge of the card. You will need sufficient space at the top of the card for the sentiment to fit above the mounted image (B). Mounted image (B) will be stuck on top of image (A).

Step Three

Fix foam pads to the reverse of the mounted topper (B). Ensure that they cannot be seen from the front - you may have to trim the foam pads. I use foam pads with a shiny backing as the acetate will slide more easily. Do not remove the backing on the pads yet.

Measure a piece of acetate to fit inside the foam pads. It needs to be able to slide up and down in the channel between the foam pads. Before removing the backing, it helps if you dust a little talcum powder along the edges of the foam pads to stop the acetate sticking to the sides of the pads. My acetate measured 9.5cms x 16cms.

Front of the acetate facing, centre and stick the sentiment flush with the top of the acetate.

Cut the second quote from image (C) trim to fit, and stick to the front of the acetate checking that when the slider is moved upwards, the quote can be seen through the aperture.

Stick four foam pads to the front of the acetate to act as a brake so the slider can only be pulled out so far.

Step Four

Check that the Acetate slider will move between the foam pad channels (shown in lilac) and trim if necessary.

Leaving the slider in position, remove the backing paper from the "Lilac" foam pads.

Position the mounted topper over image (A) which has been stuck to the card, and fix in place.

Step Five

To make the insert, using 120gsm paper, print out the matching backing paper. If you have a Martha Stewart punch around the page set, you can punch a fancy square/cartouche for writing a greeting on. I used the quilted punch and fixed the cartouche using a Quickie Glue Pen.

Step Six

I punched a heart to decorate the card underneath the sentiment slider, but it would be nice to personalize the card with a name.

To make the flowers, cut six of the smallest flowers using the CREAlies die CL CF 13. I used pink 200gsm card. Place the flower on a foam pad and using a ball embossing tool, work round the petals and the centre of the flower in a circular motion. This will make the flower cup and add dimension. Stick the flowers together in pairs and dot the centre with Stickles glitter glue.

Cut the foliage using the CREAlies die CL CS 12. I used green vellum and the smallest leaf spray. You will need three.

This card will fit in a C5 envelope.
