Materials

2 Sheets A4 Card approx 250gsm
1 Sheet JS Gentle Gloss Photo Paper
1 Sheet JS Gold Mirri Card
Sticky Stuff - I used Double Sided Tape and Collall Photo Glue
Piece of polythene or cellophane bag approx 4.5cms wide, long enough to wrap round the card
JS/Glynn Williams Times Gone By CD
Optional - piece of card 9cms x 18cms to make a card stand

Step One

If your printer will print on cardstock, using 250gsm card print out two backing sheets from the Men's section of the "Times Gone By" CD.

I chose the backing image which complimented the triple car image. Cut away the side film strip images from one of the backing sheets - do not throw the film strip away.

Using JS Gentle Gloss photo paper print out one of the largest triple car images, one of the single car image (re-sized to approximately 6.5cms x 7.5cms), and the matching sentiment. How to use the interactive facility with the sentiments is explained on the CD.

There is also a video on the website which explains how to capture single images and paste them into word processing or graphics programmes. This is the link

Step Two

Using 250gsm card Landscape orientation, starting at the left-hand side of the card, measure and mark a horizontal point 9cms from the side edge.

Score two vertical score lines next to each other, so you create a wider score line. Repeat twice more, so you have three sections 9cms wide with a double score line between. The remaining section at the right of the card will form the flange for sticking the card together.

If you have printed the backing sheet, position the card with the film strip on the right-hand side of the card, before starting measuring.

At the top and bottom of the left-hand 9cms section centre cut out notch 1.5cms x 5cms.

Step Three

Cut a strip of polythene or cellophane 4.5cms wide and sufficiently long enough to wrap round the notched section of the card. Secure with sticky tape and cut away the excess polythene. Check that the sticky tape is not stuck to the card and the polythene moves freely.

Step Four

Using the piece of 250gsm card without the filmstrip, cut two pieces of card 23.3cms x 8.8cms.

Cut two 8.8cms pieces of the filmstrip and attach one to the left edge of one piece of card and the other to the right edge of the second piece of card.

Mount the sentiment and the small topper on gold mirri card and using Collall photo glue attach the sentiment to the left piece of card and the topper to the right piece of card.

Step Five

Slide the sticky tape join over to the right-hand side and cover with a piece of double sided tape 4.5cms x 5cms.

Position the piece of card, sentiment uppermost, on top of the double sided tape, so it fits flush at the right, the film strip overhangs at the left, and the card is 1mm inside the score line at the bottom and the top edge.

Step Six

Turn the card over and fix a piece of double sided tape 4.5cms x 5cms to the left-hand side of the polythene.

Position the piece of card, topper (and X) face down, on top of the double sided tape, so it fits flush at the left, the film strip overhangs at the right, and the card is 1mm inside the score line at the bottom and the top edge.

Step Seven

Fold the three sections of the card together. Apply double sided tape to the reverse of the film strip flange and close the card.

Finished Card

Optional

Optional - To create a stand for the card.

Cut a piece of card 9cms x 18cms and fold in half to create a 9cms x 9cms square.

Cut a shape similar to the one in the picture and position the side edge up to the fold on the 9cms square. Cut out to create the stand.
