Materials
2 Sheets JS Stardream Citrine cardstock.
1 Sheet of card for printing Bookmark.
1 Sheet of card for sentiments/gift tag.
2 Sheets JS Gentle Gloss photo paper. (For toppers).
1 Sheet JS Gold Mirri Silk card (for matting).
1 Sheet 160 gsm Thin Card (for backing/matting).
1 Sheet 100gsm paper for insert.
1 Sheet 120/140gsm paper for bookmark sleeve.
1.5metres x 2 of JS 7mm organza ribbon (pink and white).
1 Tassel.
Sticky Stuff (I used Collall Glue and double sided tape).
JS Royal Horticultural Society Collection CD set. (I used the orchid image on CD2 and complemented it with a matching insert, bookmark, gift tag and sentiment all from CD 3).
Print:
Gentle Gloss photo paper - print two copies of the Orchid toppers. You will need two small and one medium topper - cut the orchids from the remaining toppers to decorate the card).
160gsm thin card - print one copy of matching backing paper.
120-140gsm paper - print one copy of matching backing paper (for bookmark sleeve).
Approx 200gsm card - print one copy of the bookmark.
Sheet of card for printing sentiments and gift tag. (How to capture individual images and copy to a word processing programme is explained on the CD)
100gsm paper - print the matching insert. If you wish to use the interactive facility, type towards the bottom of the middle section, by typing Happy Birthday (press space bar 40 times followed by a full stop - this will position the Happy Birthday correctly for trimming the insert to size).
Step One
Cut three pieces of Stardream card 10.5cms x 20cms. Optional - use a corner rounder to shape the corners.
Landscape orientation score the middle piece of card 2.5cms in from each side (do not fold).
Place the front layer of card on the middle layer, and evenly space and centre three punched holes within the 2.5cms scored section of the middle layer, punching through both pieces of card.
Repeat with the middle and back layers, punching the holes on the opposite side of the card (see picture).
Step Two
Card Front - Mat and layer two of the smallest toppers using gold mirri silk card and the backing paper. Add a sentiment and fix to the card.
Inside Front - Mat and layer the leaf gift tag, cut an orchid from one of the spare toppers and fix to the card.
Middle (front) - Cut the insert to measure 10.5cms x 17.5cms. At the left it will be flush with the card, but 2.5cms short at the right side. Fix at the left side edge and replicate the punched holes. (See picture).
Step Three
Card Back - Assemble the bookmark and attach a tassel. To make the bookmark sleeve, measure and cut a piece of the printed 120/140gsm paper to wrap round the bookmark with an extra 1cm at the side and bottom for the gluing flap. I cut mine on a slant and decorated with the Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch.
Cut a piece of mirri silk card approximately 16cms x 9cms and round the corners. Stick to card but do not stick over the 2.5cms at the left (see picture) Position and stick the bookmark sleeve on top of the mirri card. Decorate with an orchid from the spare toppers.
Inside Back - Add and sentiment and decorate.
Middle Back - Mount a middle sized topper onto gold mirri card and backing paper and centre on the card. (See picture)
Step Four
Fold the score lines at right angles on the middle section of card, folding the left-hand side downwards to create a mountain fold and the right-hand side upwards to create a valley fold.. Do not score the front and back sections of the card.
Matching the holes, stick the left-hand side of the middle section underneath the front section.
Stick the right-hand side of the middle section underneath the back section.
Knot two lengths of ribbon (pink and white) approx 22cms long in each of the holes (See picture).
